Junior Rugby Club Registration Dates and Times
SOUTHERN JUNIOR RUGBY CLUB REGISTRATIONS 2015
Sunday 8th March 10 – 11.30am
Tuesday 11th March 5.30 – 7pm
Sunday 15th March 10 – 11.30am
The rugby season starts later this year, on Monday 27th April (Anzac Day holiday). This is a week after the school holidays finish. We are planning to play Dunedin Juniors on our opening day on Sunday the 19th April.
Existing players can re-register online very soon. On Monday 2nd March you will be emailed a registration form for 2015, please check this and update any details. It is a lot quicker for us if you to do this at home. Remember accurate contact details are very important.
If you can’t register online (includes all new players) please come to our registration dates and we will have computers and helpers available to register. You will still need to come to a registration day to pick up your playing gear and pay your subs. (Cash, cheque, or EFTPOS).
We register players in the Ripper grades $30 (U5-U7) & Tackle Grades $40 (U8-U13). We recommend that you preregister online as early as possible to avoid missing out on teams. Free mouth guards for all players.
If anyone still has gear to return from last season please bring it with you when you register.
All players will be provided with a team uniform which includes a playing jersey & shorts. This gear will be required to be returned at the end of the season. Southern socks are available to purchase at registration for $12.
We have a recycled boot drive, so please bring along any boots that are too small and in reasonable condition, for other players. $5 donation if you need some “new” boots.

To all under-13, under-12, under-11, under-10 players:
New Zealand Rugby introduced a rule last year where all players must play at least half a game every week, which we totally support. However this rule was introduced after our teams had been named for 2014, and it impacted on teams with large playing numbers.
Again this season there are indications there may be a bottleneck of players in some Southern teams from the under-13 grade to the under-10 grade.
If a team has to be split, the Southern club has a philosophy of having equal talent among its teams, and players playing the game as much as possible.
To achieve our philosophy it may lead to players not getting into teams they have previously been in or moved to another team, or grade.
Where it is possible the club will try and get players playing in teams they wish, but this is not going to be possible for everyone.
The club wants to do the best for the players and no team will be known until registration finishes in mid March.
